Eligibility

  • PSCRB Course certificate
  • Non-Indian Participants need to hold a Student Visa to India to undergo the course.
  • Note: As per D.G.Shipping Guidelines, a candidate will be permitted for the final examination (Exit Exam/ Institute Exam, as applicable) only after successfully completing the E- Learning Module of the course.

  • We recommend candidates bring their own Boiler suit and Safety Shoes. Used Laundry cleaned Boiler suits sizes S to XXL, in limited numbers, are available for rent @ Rs. 99/pc, and used Safety Shoes sizes from 5-11 are available for rent at Rs. 99/pair. The payment for the same is to be done online through HIMT Student Portal.
  • Change of clothes, towel, &  2 pairs of undergarments  

If the sea service & the certificate details are updated on the Seafarer Profile, then the seafarer profile can be submitted. Alternatively, the shore experience letter & the PSCRB Certificate can be merged and uploaded on the HIMT Portal. 

As per DGS Order 20 of 2020, Successful Completion of E-Learning Modules through the DGS website is mandatory to get Digital Certificate for all DG-approved Courses. You must complete the E- Learning Module of the course on D.G.Shipping Website, including passing the E- Learning Assessment, before the completion of your Physical class to be eligible to give your Final Assessment.

Reporting time to VIZAG HIMT (Post-Sea Center) - 7:00 AM. The bus will leave for practicals by 7:30 AM.

Please note that practical training sessions will be conducted at the VIZAG HIMT Jetty in the Port Area of the city, and VIZAG HIMT Mockup. The approximate travel time from HIMT city center to the facilities is about 1-1.5 hrs in the HIMT shuttle bus.

After training, you will be dropped back to VIZAG HIMT (Post-Sea Center) in the HIMT shuttle bus.

Arrival back to VIZAG HIMT (Post-Sea Center) - 5:30 PM

Please note that the latest time to report to VIZAG HIMT (Post-Sea Center) is 07:30 AM, failing which the course would be cancelled and you would need to re-book the course again.

Dress Code : Collarless T.Shirts, Shorts, Sandals, Bathroom slippers are not permitted for Physical Classes 

D. G. Shipping mandates a minimum batch strength of 25%. In the event that the number of participants in the course reduces due to withdrawals, causing the batch strength to fall below 25% of the batch capacity, the course would be postponed without any additional charges.
