How to Book Courses at HIMT ? – All the courses are available for booking online (Click here for Online Booking) from any part of the Globe. The seats are allocated on First cum First serve basis by the software.
Note : Cash Transaction is not allowed.
Withdrawal, Shifting & Cancellation Policy
Candidates are advised to carefully review and finalize their schedule before booking a course.
Shifting of Course:
- If a candidate is unable to attend the course on the scheduled date, the booking may be shifted to the next available batch within one (1) year, subject to availability.
Shifting charges:
- Within 6 months: 10% of the Total Course Fees Paid to HIMT
- Between 6–12 months: 20% of the Total Course Fees Paid to HIMT
Total Course Fees Paid = (Course Fees + D.G.Shipping Exit Exam Fees- 1st Attempt, if applicable) – Loyalty Discount (if applicable)
- If shifting to a batch with a higher course fee, the fee difference + shifting charges must be paid.
- Interchange of course or participant is not permitted.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
The Institute reserves the right to cancel any course due to administrative, technical reasons or insufficient enrolment
In case of cancellation due to force majeure or circumstances beyond the Institute’s control, candidates will be eligible only for shifting to a future batch without any charges.
Refund Structure (based on time of withdrawal):
- More than 30 days before course commencement: 75% refund of the Course Fees
- 15 to 30 days before commencement: 50% refund of the Course Fees
- 3 to 14 days before commencement: 25% refund of the Course Fees
- Within 72 hours of commencement: No refund (fees forfeited)
Important Notes
Any course that is shifted is not eligible for cancellation. In case of withdrawal for a shifted course, the fees would be forfeited.
While booking the course, if the seats get full, you would be accommodated in the next earliest available batch without any charges.
Students should not be sailing or be working parallel in any shore organization during the period of the course.
Candidates who are visiting India to undergo any courses should be holding a valid student visa, if not they would not be permitted to the course
If the INDOS Number is generated by HIMT after booking BST & STSDSD Courses, and a request for withdrawal is received, then the fees stands forfeited. Incase a candidate is unable to attend the course, then they can only shift the course by paying the applicable shifting charges.
Dress Code:
Collarless T.Shirts, Shorts, Sandals, Bathroom slippers are not permitted for Physical Classes.
For Virtual Classes, kindly ensure you are dressed appropriately
Attendance:
D.G.Shipping Approved Courses:
100% attendance is mandatory, and any candidate having a shortfall in attendance needs to re-book and re-do the full course in the next available batch as a new enrollment. For courses having a duration of 10 days or more, under special cases and as per the DGS guidelines, candidates can compensate up to 1 day of missed out session in the next subsequent batch subject to availability of seat. Additionally, the candidate needs to pay 10% for the Theory class and 20% for Practicals of the course fee per session for the same.
UK MCA Approved Course:
The attendance requirement is 100% for every course, and there is no provision for a missed out session. In case a candidate has a shortfall in attendance, he/she would need to undergo a fresh course in the next batch.
Loyalty discount slab
For D.G. Shipping Courses:
- 0 – 5 Courses = Course Fee only
- 6 – 15 Courses = Rs.500/- discount per booking
- 16 – 25 Courses = Rs.1000/- discount per booking
- 26 – 35 Courses = Rs.1500/- discount per booking
- 36 – 45 Courses = Rs.2000/- discount per booking
- 46 – 50 Courses = Rs.2500/- discount per booking
- 51 and above Courses = Rs.3000/- discount per booking
Loyalty Discount is not applicable for batches with Discounted Fees & Discounted Packages
The Above slab is applicable only for D.G.Shipping Approved Courses, for which Fees is more than Rs. 5,000/-
Only one discount offer can be availed. Egs- if a package discount is being applied, the loyalty discount will not be applicable.
For UK MCA Approved Courses:
- 1 – 4 Courses = Course Fees only
- Package of 5 courses = Rs. 1,000/- discount per booking
- Package of 10 Courses = Rs.2000/- discount per booking
Candidates need to avail the discount by mailing help@himtmarine.com within 1 month of the course commencement
Note: Only the above discount is applicable for UK MCA Approved Courses. Loyalty Discount or any other discounts are not applicable.
Note :
- The Refund amount will be issued only through Online payment to the Candidate’s account.
- The Place of commencement is subject to change between HIMT Campuses. Batch dates are subject to change.
- Cancellation is not allowed for a single course which is booked as a package.
- No refund for courses postponed due to national issues/act of god.
- Refund is not applicable for Shifting / Boiler Suit / Safety Shoe / Missed Out / Exit Exam / Any Other additional charges.
- Duplicate receipts will be issued by remitting Rs.500 per receipt.
- For Value Added and Offshore Courses Minimum 3-4 students are required to confirm the batch.
- For UK MCA approved courses, a minimum of 4 Students for ECDIS & 2 Students for all other Courses are required.
- The Course is subject to confirmation from a minimum of 25% of the course capacity. In the event that the number of participants in the course reduces due to withdrawals, causing the batch strength to fall below 25% of the originally enrolled students, the course would be rescheduled. The course will be shifted to the next available date as D.G. Shipping’s regulations mandate a minimum batch strength of 25%
