  • Experience and information interchange. Objective, Training Requirement, Behaviour of Large Vessels, and History of Large Vessels
  • Manoeuvrability of Large Vessels. Guide Lines on test Procedures of Large (Annex Zig Test, Inherent Dynamical Stability. Evasive Action considering Invisible distance
  • Shallow water effect and calculation of Squat width of influence. Constant Rate of Turn and WOL. Slow speed control and kick ahead technique. Reducing speed using rudder cycling technique. Crash Astern manoeuvre.
  • Techniques to anchor a large vessel. Human Factor in handling Large vessels
  • Familiarisation with Simulator controls
  • Simulation Exercises
  • Approach to Warf and Terminal including control of approach and lateral Speed during berthing. Use of Number of Tugs and calculation of Number of tugs required for displacement of the vessel.
