Eligibility

• All Medical Practitioners having a minimum qualification of MBBS, from a recognized university approved by a competent authority, are eligible to enroll for this course.
• The Medical Practitioner should have valid registration with the applicable Medical Council not exceeding 65 years.
  
  

Addition provisions to be complied with (As per MSN 8 of 2023): 

• The Doctor should have own clinic/hospital with basic minimum infrastructure requirement, i.e. waiting area for seafarer, examining room, testing lab, collection of blood and urine sample etc. as per the guideline of MS Medical Examination Rules 2000.
• Doctor should have testing laboratory approved by NABL/NABH or they may have tie up with NABL,NABH laboratory only.
• A documentary evidence of land documents (ownership/lease) in respect of clinic along with latest photographs of the clinic is to be provided at the time of initial / renewal of approval.
• A minimum processing fee of Rs. 25,000 for initial and request for renewal approval of Rs. 10,000/- to be paid through bharatkosh which is non-refundable. For change of address/contact details on the DG shipping medical profile a fee of Rs. 2000/- paid through bharatkosh.
• Renewal of Medical Examiner will be considered if he/she had done at least 25 medical tests of the seafarer in one year in the metro cities and 15 for the non-metro cities.
• The approval shall be valid for 5 years from the date of completion of the Medical Familiarization course, or the date up to the validity of registration of Medical Council or the Medical Examiner reaches the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
• The approval so granted shall stand cancelled if any information or document found fake or compromised at any point of time.
• The Doctor may collaborate and outsource the various tests to Laboratory centers approved by NABL/NABH laboratory. ln Such cases, a sample is to be collected at the doctors approved clinic.

Documents Required

• MBBS Degree
• Valid registration with the applicable Medical Council/ Good Standing Certificate. (Note: Both Medical Council/ Good Standing Certificate are subject to renewal every 5 years, basis which approval is granted by authorities. If the Medical Council/ Good Standing Certificate is due for renewal, then you need to renew it prior to the course.)
• Stamp/Passport size photo in formals

• Proof of the following as per MSN 8 of 2023

  • Having own clinic/hospital with basic minimum infrastructure requirement 
  • Owning/Tie up with testing laboratory approved by NABL/NABH 
  • A documentary evidence of land documents (ownership/lease) in respect of clinic along with latest photographs of the clinic 
  • A minimum processing fee of Rs. 25,000 for to be paid through bharatkosh which is non-refundable. For change of address/contact details on the DG shipping medical profile a fee of Rs. 2000/- paid through bharatkosh.

Details

Following are the documents to be submitted on the day of reporting of the course

1. Duly filled in Annexure Form (To be filled with black pen in Capital letters)
2. Registration Certificate from Medical Council which show the validity of the Certificate.
3. If Registration Certificate is valid for life time, please submit Certificate of Good Standing from Medical Council.

On receipt of the above documents and on successful completion of the course, your documents will be forwarded to D.G. Shipping for further processing. Please note that Institutes are NOT involved in the approval process, and the participants need to wait for the authorities to review the documents and give the approval.

Dress Code : Collarless T.Shirts, Shorts, Sandals, Bathroom slippers are not permitted for Physical Classes

D. G. Shipping mandates a minimum batch strength of 25%. In the event that the number of participants in the course reduces due to withdrawals, causing the batch strength to fall below 25% of the batch capacity, the course would be postponed without any additional charges.
