Course Description


The overall aim of the course is to provide training to meet the minimum mandatory requirements for training and certification of Masters, Deck Officers, Engineer Officers and all personnel with immediate responsibility for the care and use of fuels and fuel systems on ships subject to the IGF Code, as per Regulation A-V/3 and Section A-V/3-2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978, as amended.

Eligibility


  • Seafarer who has completed the four Basic safety courses, under STCW Regulation VI/1 and section A-VI/1 and holds as a minimum a certificate of Proficiency as Watchkeeping rating or a Certificate of Competency as an Officer on Watch
  • Hold certificate of proficiency for Basic Training for ships using Fuels covered within the IGF Code.
  • Non-Indian Participants need to hold a Student Visa to India to undergo the course.

Documents Required


  • Four Basic Safety Courses Certificates
  • DGS approved basic IGF COP is Mandatory (The Basic IGF CoP has to be applied on the D.G.Shipping Website after receiving BIGF Certificate and the CoP process takes around 3 working days if all the documents are in order) 
  • Successful Completion of E-Learning Modules (Course ID- 5312) through the DGS website is mandatory. We advise you to complete the same within 48 hours of the course completion.

Class Timings: 

Day 1- 9:15 AM to 4:15 PM
Day 2 to Day 4- 7:15 AM to 1:45 PM
Day 5- 7:15 AM to 4:45 PM (Including Exit Exam)

Lunch is included

Breakfast Timings: 6:30 AM to 7: 10 AM

Minimum 8 Students are required to confirm the batch.

It is advisable to keep at least a week gap between the Basic IGF Course & Advanced IGF Course as the Basic IGF CoP process takes 3-4 working days if all the documents are in order.

Kindly ensure your photo and signature in the seafarer profile is updated as the same would be used for Facial Attendance and certification as per DGS Directives.

Dress Code : Collarless T.Shirts, Shorts, Sandals, Bathroom slippers are not permitted for Physical Classes

D. G. Shipping mandates a minimum batch strength of 25%. In the event that the number of participants in the course reduces due to withdrawals, causing the batch strength to fall below 25% of the batch capacity, the course would be postponed without any additional charges.
