Course Description


This course is intended to provide training to navigation officers to meet the Mandatory minimum requirements for the training and qualifications of masters and deck officers on ships operating in polar waters, specified in Section A-V /4 and Table A-V/4-2 of the STCW convention. This course is also designed to meet the requirements of IMO Model course 7.12

Eligibility


  • Participants should hold a certificate as Master, chief mate or officer in charge of a navigation watch qualified in accordance with regulations II/1, II/2 and II/3 respectively of the STCW Convention, issued or recognised by Government of India
  • Participants should be in possession of Certificate of Proficiency [CoP] of "Basic training for ships in polar waters"

- E- Learning and Exit Exam is mandatory for certification. You must complete the E- Learning Module of the course on D.G.Shipping Website, including passing the E- Learning Assessment, before the completion of your Physical class to be eligible to give your Exit Exam.

It is mandatory to hold a Certificate of Proficiency [CoP] of "Basic training for ships in polar waters". Candidates can undergo the course only if they posess the CoP prior to the course commencement. 

Class Timings: 

Day 1- 9:15 AM to 4:15 PM
Day 2 - 7:15 AM to 4:15 PM
Day 3 & Day 4- 7:15 AM to 1:45 PM
Day 5- 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM (Including Exit Exam)

- Lunch is included

- Breakfast Timings: 6:30 AM to 7: 10 AM

D. G. Shipping mandates a minimum batch strength of 25%. In the event that the number of participants in the course reduces due to withdrawals, causing the batch strength to fall below 25% of the batch capacity, the course would be postponed without any additional charges.
