Course Description


  • Understanding Methanol Fuel:
    • Chemical and physical properties of methanol, production pathways including grey, blue, and green methanol, and its environmental benefits.
  • Handling and Storage:
    • Safe bunkering practices, specially designed tank construction and storage requirements, and fuel system integrity.
  • Operational Safety:
    • Risk assessment fundamentals, vapor hazard mitigation, firefighting procedures dealing with invisible flames, spill response, and first aid.
  • Demonstrate a thorough awareness of gas measuring instruments and their crucial role in leak detection and atmosphere monitoring.
  • Regulatory Framework:
    • Familiarization with IMO IGF Code requirements and class society regulations.
